According to the Federal Bureau of Investigations Dec. 31, 2023 (FBI), America is threatened by over 169+ Islamic guerrilla communes publishing the FBI’s List Of Terrorist Camps In America… and there might be more! (Terrorist Camps In America first published in 2016 and 2020 and last 2023) The groups are run by Jamaat al-Fuqra, which is based in Pakistan. Its main front group is “Muslims of the Americas.”
The Muslims of America, Inc. is an organization that operates the International Quranic Open University (IQOU). The IQOU is a premier institute for the study of the Holy Quran, Islamic traditions, and Sufic Sciences. It is based at a 70-acre commune called Islamberg. The organization commemorates anniversaries for their late leader, Hazrat El Sheikh Syed Mubarak Ali Shah Gillani Al Hashmi.
Here are some key points about the Muslims of America, Inc. and the International Quranic Open University:

We now know the FBI believes Islamic extremists used a compound in the New Mexico desert to train kids to attack American schools. But believe it or not, a judge’s decision to grant bail means four of the five suspects could soon be released on bond.
Now experts say they fear this is just one of many terrorist training camps operating on United States soil.
“There are so many people in the United States that are part of the jihad ideology, who are doing either fundraising here in the United States, training in the United States to conduct attacks here in the homeland and abroad,” said former CIA operative Joseph Assad.
Assad adds extremists exploit laws we have here in the United States, like religious freedom, creating sleeper cells and often operating off the grid until they’re ready to strike.
“In the CIA, we used to believe it was by the grace of God and good work by our partners in the FBI that we had stumbled upon things, such as the camp in New Mexico,” said Assad.
At that compound, investigators also found 11 emaciated children and the remains of a 3-year-old boy.
An FBI agent testified they were told the 3-year-old died as part of a ritual “to expel demons.”
“They told the kids and they all seemed to believe that this boy would resurrect, come back as Jesus and Jesus would tell them what targets to hit in terrorist attacks,” said Ryan Mauro, a national security analyst with the Clarion Project.
Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, the father of the disabled boy who died from being denied his medication, is the only one still being held. That’s because he faces an additional charge of being a fugitive from justice in a Georgia kidnapping case.
Mauro says it’s no surprise these training camps exist in the United States.
But it is rare to get the evidence for a raid.
One example, Mauro notes, is the Jamad al Fruco group, which claims to have 22 training camps across the country.
“They haven’t been cracked down on because they are not going out trying to kill people right now,” he explained. “They’ve done so in the past, but right now they are not. Why? Because when you build up an infrastructure that massive and your making millions of dollars and sending over to Pakistan, why would you carry out a violent plot and risk losing everything.”
Mauro says most people think of radical Islam as just the act of terrorism and getting virgins in paradise, but radical jihadist groups have beliefs about Islamic end times prophecy, which teaches a war will take place between a messiah figure and the anti-Christ.
“Most of them believe that will be Israel or the West or someone from there,” Mauro explained. “When the leader wages this war, and he will win because Jesus will come to his side. The Muslim Jesus will show up, will break a cross and prohibit Christianity.”
Experts say the ultimate goal of radical Islam is not just to inflict terror by attacking our nation, but to inspire homegrown terrorism from within committed by Americans against fellow Americans.

Millions To Die In Middle East Now From 85 Billion Worth U.S.A. Military Equipment
Chairman Simmons, Ranking Member Lofgren, and members of the Subcommittee, I want to thank you for this opportunity to speak to you on the topic of Islamic radicalization in the United States. I would like to emphasize before I begin that the issue is not Islam itself but how the religious ideology is used by violent extremists to inspire and justify their actions. The FBI does not investigate members of any religion for their religious beliefs, but rather focuses on investigating activities that may harm the United States.
Successes in the war on terrorism and the arrests of many key al Qaeda leaders have diminished the ability of the group to attack the U.S. homeland. At the same time, a broader Sunni extremist movement has evolved from being run entirely by al Qaeda central to a broader movement. This is demonstrated by the 2004 Madrid bombings, the July 2005 bombings and attempted bombings in London, and recent disruptions in the U.S., United Kingdom, Canada, Bosnia, Denmark, and elsewhere.
That said, core al Qaeda remains committed to attacking the United States and continues to demonstrate its ability to adapt its tactics to circumvent security measures and reconstitute its ranks. Al Qaeda is also attempting to broaden its appeal to English-speaking Western Muslims by disseminating violent Islamic extremist propaganda via media outlets and the Internet.
Although the most dangerous instances of radicalization have so far been overseas, the Islamic radicalization of U.S. persons, whether foreign-born or native, is of increasing concern. Islamic radicalization in the United States does not appear to be endemic, but it does exist nationwide. Key to the success of stopping the spread of radicalization is identifying patterns and trends in the early stages.
The FBI defines homegrown Islamic extremists as U.S. persons who appeared to have assimilated, but reject the cultural values, beliefs, and environment of the United States. They identify themselves as Muslims and on some level become radicalized in the United States. They intend to provide support for, or directly commit, a terrorist attack inside the United States. The threat from homegrown Islamic extremists is likely smaller in scale than that posed by overseas terrorist groups such as al Qaeda but is potentially larger in psychological impact. Several recent cases illustrate the nature of the issue.
Since August 2005 the FBI, other federal agencies, and our foreign partners have dismantled a global network of extremists who are operating independently of any known terrorist organization. Several individuals affiliated with this network were arrested for providing material support in connection with the plotting of a terrorist attack in the United States.
The apparent increase of cases involving homegrown Islamic extremists may represent an increased sensitivity of law enforcement to activities not previously regarded as terrorism, but we cannot rule out the possibility that the homegrown phenomenon is growing.
The FBI has identified certain venues, such as prisons and the Internet, that present opportunities for the proselytizing of radical Islam.
Particularly for Muslim converts, but also for those born into Islam, an extremist imam can strongly influence individual belief systems by speaking from a position of authority on religious issues. Extremist imams have the potential to influence vulnerable followers at various locations of opportunity; can spot and assess individuals who respond to their messages; and can potentially guide them into increasingly extremist circles.
Although the activities of radical imams are typically associated with Salafist-Wahhabi lectures given in the mosque, they are not limited to the mosque itself. Imams are often active and influential in other venues such as prisons, publishing, online forums, audio lectures, and at Islamic conferences and institutes. These various forums allow imams to reach new audiences and potentially susceptible followers outside of the mosque itself.
The propagation of radical ideas is not confined to Sunni Islam. Iran is committed to promoting Shia Islam activism.
The European and American experience shows that prisons are venues where extremists have radicalized and recruited among the inmate population. Prison radicalization primarily occurs through anti-U.S. sermons provided by contract, volunteer, or staff imams, radicalized inmates who gain religious influence, and extremist media. Ideologies that radicalized inmates appear most often to embrace include the Salafi form of Sunni Islam (including revisionist versions commonly known as “prison Islam”) and an extremist view of Shia Islam similar to that of the government of Iran and Lebanese Hizballah.
Most cases of prison radicalization appear to be carried out by domestic Islamic extremist groups with few or no direct foreign connections, like the Sunni Islamic extremist group in California, the Jam’iyyat Ul-Islam Is-Saheeh, identified in July 2005. I would like to emphasize that not all prison radicalization is Islamic in nature. Domestic groups such as white supremacists also recruit in prisons.
In response to this possible threat, the FBI and the Bureau of Prisons have been actively engaged in efforts to detect, deter, and interdict efforts by terrorist and extremist groups to radicalize or recruit in U.S. prisons since February 2003. As part of these efforts, we have identified best practices for correctional institutions to combat the spread of radicalization.
The Internet is also a venue for the radicalization of young, computer-savvy Westerners—both male and female—who identify with an Islamic extremist ideology. An older generation of supporters and sympathizers of violent Islamic extremism, in the post-9/11 environment of increased law enforcement scrutiny, have migrated their radicalization, recruitment, and material support activities online.
Radicalization via the Internet is participatory, and individuals are actively engaged in exchanging extremist propaganda and rhetoric online which may facilitate the violent Islamic extremist cause. These online activities further their indoctrination, create links between extremists located around the world, and may serve as a springboard for future terrorist activities.
Overseas experience can also be a significant element in facilitating the transition from one who has a proclivity to be radicalized and who may espouse radicalized rhetoric, to one who is willing and ready to act on those radicalized beliefs. Although radicalization can occur without overseas travel, the foreign experience appears to provide the networking that makes it possible for interested individuals to train for and participate in operational activity. The experience may vary from religious or language instruction to basic paramilitary training.
We assess that the overseas experiences of John Walker Lindh played a pivotal role in his involvement with the Taliban. Once overseas, he was directed by radicalized individuals to attend extremist universities and ultimately training camps in Pakistan and Afghanistan. (Lindh, after pleading guilty in the Eastern District of Virginia to supporting the Taliban in violation of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act and carrying an explosive during the commission of a felony, was given a 20-year prison sentence.)
The FBI approaches the radicalization issue on two levels:
We are attempting to understand the dynamics of individual and organizational radicalization to identify early indicators as to whether individuals or groups are demonstrating the potential for violence.
We are engaged in extensive outreach to Muslim communities to dispel misconceptions that may foster extremism.
Thank you for the opportunity to address this important issue. I am happy to answer your questions.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The impeachment trial for Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas begins Wednesday. House Republicans accuse him of violating the Constitution by refusing to enforce border security laws, so they’ve voted to send articles of impeachment to the U.S. Senate.
The trial isn’t expected to last long. Democrats control the Senate and will likely vote to either table the issue or dismiss it altogether.
Meanwhile, some of the House Republicans who have been leading the charge in Mayorkas’ impeachment took the opportunity to grill him, Tuesday, when he visited Capitol Hill to seek money for his department.
The scheduled appropriations discussion turned into more of a trial run of what could be expected from any Senate impeachment proceeding.
Lawmakers immediately fired accusations against Secretary Mayorkas, including that he failed to fulfill his oath to protect the United States.
“You have refused to follow laws passed by Congress and you have breached the public trust. You facilitated record levels of illegal immigrants since your first day in office,” Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) said during his opening statements.
Secretary Mayorkas, however, attempted to turn the table on his accusers, saying lawmakers are responsible for changing the overall immigration system as well as providing more resources for Homeland Security.
“Congress has not updated our immigration enforcement laws since 1996, 28 years ago. And only Congress can deliver on our need for more border patrol agents, asylum officers, immigration judges, facilities, and technology,” the Secretary said.
“In that claim for, ‘more resources, so that we can adhere to the laws,’ you’re actually, in this budget, decreasing the requested ICE detention beds. That seems to me to be illogical,” countered Rep. Green.
Meanwhile, the House Oversight Committee looked into how the border crisis is impacting public safety.
“Not surprisingly the open border has attracted many illegal immigrants with criminal histories,” said committee Chairman, Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI).
Witnesses included sheriffs from Texas and Virginia, who say two major issues facing law enforcement stem from an open border: Fentanyl and an influx of illegal immigrants.
“The impact on our county jail is that we have an average population of 4,200 people, six percent of that population is generally illegal aliens. Of that 264 in custody, they’ve allegedly committed 178 violent crimes, including eight murders and 44 sexual assaults of children,” said Terrant County, Texas Sheriff Bill Waybourn.
“In Loudoun County, we average about 150 overdoses per year and about 24 deaths. Unfortunately, we have seen a significant increase in juvenile drug use and overdoses,” said Loudoun County, Virginia Sheriff Mike Chapman.
Democrats tried to redirect that conversation too, arguing that according to law enforcement data, U.S. citizens commit a majority of all violent crimes.
But former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli countered that crimes committed by those entering the country illegally are extremely hard to track and that the border chaos, directly contributing to crime and human suffering, could be prevented.
“Every illegal entry into the U.S. is a crime. The crime rate among illegal immigrants is 100 percent every one of them committed a crime when they entered illegally,” said Cuccinelli.
During the budget hearing, Mayorkas told lawmakers that anyone deemed as a threat to national security is at risk of detention and removal.
When asked if he could ensure no members of terrorist organizations have been granted parole on his watch, however, he refused to answer.
Washington, February 2: Islamic Extremism is the face of ‘inhuman’ ideology which has infected thousands of families in the name of ‘religion’ across the globe. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) newly released documents has confirmed that members in America and Canada are being taught undercover regarding extremism, terrorism, using weapons, crimes etc.
In a report obtained by Clarion project shed a light over ‘Jamaat ul-Fuqraa’ training members across America and Canada. The Clarion Project has received a series of documents from the FBI investigation dated between 2002 and 2004, and the files confirm that concern about MOA’s extremism is justified.
Fuqra, which now goes by the name of the Muslims of the Americas (MOA) among other titles, is a cultish Islamist group with a history of crime and terrorism. The group is led by Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani in Pakistan.
Also, United States government confirmed in a letter to the Clarion Project that an investigation into a terror-linked Islamist cult named Muslims of America (MOA) is ongoing. The group is known for its “Islamic villages” and “Islamberg” headquarters in upstate New York is its most well-known village.
The documents refer to “Islamberg” in Hancock, New York; “Ahmadabad West” and “Ahmadabad East” in Red House and Meherrin, Virginia; “Islamville” in York County, South Carolina; “Hassanville” in Ontario, Canada; the “village” in Dover, Tennessee and one in the state of Washington. Travel to and from Pakistan, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago, Georgia, Texas, Michigan.
The documents state that “all locations have individuals who are involved with criminal scams to raise money for MOA/JAF,” including worker’s compensation fraud, insurance fraud, credit card fraud, illegal straw purchases of weapons and conversions of semi-automatic firearms into fully-automatic guns. MOA members send the funds to “Islamberg” in New York and/or Lahore, Pakistan for Sheikh Gilani.
Muslims of America (MOA) used to be known as Jamaat ul-Fuqra when it carried out a series of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil from the 1970s to the early 1990s. The group is led by Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani -a radical cleric in Pakistan and claims to have 22 “villages” in the U.S., some of which are known to have been used for basic military-type training. Although the FBI documents from a 2009-2011 state that Fuqra has about a dozen “jamaats” in America.
“MOA members from all compounds also travel to Pakistan for both religious education as well as military-style training and operational experience fighting in the Kashmir region of Pakistan,” the document states.
During early 1990’s: Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani appeared in a secret video offering to use Fuqra offices to provide guerilla training to aspiring jihadists.
During 2002: Gilani’s name appeared in headlines in 2002 when Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl was abducted and beheaded on his way to interview Gilani, though the radical cleric was never accused of an involvement in those crimes.
During 2003: FBI documents released by Clarion Project said that MOA was linked with al-Qaeda in Pakistan.
During 2009: The first FBI document is dated November 27, 2009, and labels the Muslims of the Americas, Inc. as “armed and dangerous.” It begins by summarizing the group’s consistent history of extremism, terrorism and crime.
During 2010: Newly-released document from December 2010 clearly refers to “the Muslims of the Americas [aka Fuqra] terrorist organization” and states.
“The MOA [Fuqra] is composed primarily of black American Muslim converts, many who converted to Islam while in prison. Many MOA members reside in rural communities (jamaats) to live and worship free from non-Muslim influence.
The MOA jamaats are located on land that has been privately owned or rented by members. Each jamaat usually has numerous trailers where members reside, a mosque, and a guard post, some with armed guards, at the entrance to the properties. These communities, similar to commune type facilities, have women and children residing in them with the children being homeschooled.
Organized training is also conducted to include weapons training, tactics, and hand-to-hand combat, rappelling, and live-fire exercises.”
Fuqra has also documented history of conducting paramilitary training in America, Pakistan and Kashmir.
FBI reports from a 2003-2007 investigation in Texas warned, “The MOA [Fuqra] is now an independent organization which possesses an infrastructure capable of planning and mounting terrorist campaigns overseas and within the U.S.”
The downside to this case is that ‘Fuqra’ is not yet designated as Foreign Terrorist Organization by the State Department. As the Justice Department’s Bureau confirmed that investigation is underway.
Over a dozen North American Muslim groups have joined Clarion Project in asking the U.S. State Department to look at designating Fuqra as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.
The Justice Department’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms recently confirmed to Clarion Project that it still has Fuqra members under investigation. ATF has prosecuted Fuqra members on firearms-related charges, including illegal possession of guns. Clarion Project also recently reported that Fuqra’s General Counsel, Tahirah Amatul-Wadud, is running for Congress in Massachusetts.
126 Killed in Chicago Since Mayor Called for Ceasefire in Gaza At the end of January, Mayor Brandon Johnson, the corrupt pro-crime leftist in charge of the city, whipped votes and broke a tie to demand that Israel stop attacking his Hamas pals under the guise of calling for a “ceasefire”.
Gaza hasn’t been doing so well since, but neither has Chicago.
Since Mayor Johnson and the cowards and leftists on the City Council called for a ceasefire, 126 people have been killed in Chicago.
That’s right. 126 just in the last several months. (Those are the Trib numbers, Hey Jackass shows 140 for the whole year but it may be listing only murders that occurred as a result of shootings. HJ also shows 539 shot and wounded so far this year.)
And here’s how the Chicago ceasefire is going so far.
A child is dead and 10 other people are injured after a mass shooting at a family gathering on the city’s South Side on Saturday night.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert for 18 gunshot rounds at the location, police said. They found multiple people shot and started performing live-saving measures on the victims.
The victims included seven adults and four children, police said. A girl was shot in her head. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
The girl’s father, Jose Molina, identified her as 9-year-old Ariana Molina.
“They had some big assault rifles, I guess, because it was too many shots… they shot my daughter in the head… my wife in the back… me in my leg… my two nephews and a couple more family members,” Jose Molina said.
ShotSpotter may have saved lives here. Mayor Brandon Johnson of course wants to get rid of ShotSpotter because it causes the police to detect gunfire and thereby arrest more of his voting base.
Meanwhile, Mayor Johnson has leaped into action after the latest shooting to… offer therapy to everyone affected.
The Community Safety Coordination Center has developed an initial response plan, which, among other resources, will consist of:
- A mass canvassing event at 52nd and Damen and surrounding blocks on Monday, April 15, at 2 p.m. with the purpose of providing the community access to behavioral teams, victim services and case management
- Financial support for the family of the child who passed away via the Emergency Supplemental Victim’s Fund program
- Emergency Services Assistance Center, starting today, April 14
- Victim services to other victims and families
- Increased 9th District CPD presence at impacted schools
As the CPD and our partners work through their investigation, the Back of the Yards community has the full support of our administration as they process and heal from this trauma.”

But he is holding a ghoulish “roundtable” on antisemitism at which the only apparent attendees will be Hamas supporters.
At least three Jewish lawmakers and several Jewish organizations are declining Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s invitation for a Monday roundtable to discuss antisemitism over what they describe as “disrespect and lack of concern for the Jewish community.”
In a letter sent Friday declining the invitation, 50th Ward Ald. Debra Silverstein; state Sen. Sara Feigenholtz, D-Chicago, and state Rep. Bob Morgan, D-Deerfield, pointed to Johnson’s tie-breaking vote in support of a resolution calling for a cease-fire in the war in Gaza as an example of Johnson’s “stunning failure in leadership.”
The only ones attending apparently will be the pro-terror JVP.
Mayor Johnson’s approval rating dropped from 28% in November to 21% in February. At this rate, he’s gonna make Lori look like a rock star.
“the child who passed away.” The little girl, not long out of babyhood, didn’t “pass away.” The poor little girl was murdered.
Say her name, you worm. Her name is Ariana. She was murdered by the ghouls you favor.
This creep is actually a ‘let’s go brandon.’ Go, go far away, and just keep right on going. The city needs you like it needs another great fire.
My sympathies and prayers for Ariana and her grieving family.

US Communist top dog says ‘after a century under banner of Lenin,’ next century will be under banner of Palestine Collectivist socialist internationalists hate the Jewish state for its ethnic and religious particularity, and are thus happy to ally with the genocidal jihad against Israel.
“Chris Helali, International Secretary Of The Party Of Communists USA: After A Century Under The Banner Of Lenin, I Believe The Banner Of The Next Century Will Be Fighting Imperialism And Supporting Palestine,” MEMRI, January 21, 2024:
Chris Helali, the international secretary of the Party of Communists USA, addressed the International Assembly of the World Workers Party against Imperialism and in Support of Palestine on January 21, 2024. In a video of his address, posed on the Workers World Party on YouTube, he acknowledged the event taking place at the Malcolm X & Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial & Educational Center, saying that Muslims, and Shiaa Muslims in particular, appreciate the concept of martyrdom.
In honor of the 100th anniversary of Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin, Helali read a poem by Mahmoud Darwish, a recipient of the Lenin Award. He said that the past 100 years were under the “banner of Lenin,” but the coming 100 years will be under the banner of being “against imperialism and in support of Palestine.” Helali honored the “legacy” of the comrades fighting for the DPRK, Zimbabwe, Cuba, Venezuela. He led the crowd in chants: “Down with imperialism, colonialism, and Zionism.” Helali’s statements were posted on Workers World Party on YouTube on February 18.
Chris Helali: “Growing up in a Muslim family and thinking about of course, Haj Malik, of course Malcom X, and to be in this room here is deeply spiritual, especially for us Shia, who have in Iran and throughout the world, have an understanding of martyrdom, an understanding of those who have been killed, and the slogan that everyday is Ashura and everywhere is Karbala, thinking about Imam Hussein. So, thinking also about the martyrdom here.
“And of course, combining the Palestine resistance and the centenary celebration of Lenin, I could think of only the poet Mahmoud Darwish, who is considered the national poet of Palestine, and was himself awarded the Lenin Prize, which he valued above all else in the 1980s by the Soviet Union, and so I will read from his poem.
“‘I do not hate people. I do not assault anyone. But, if I get hungry, I eat the flesh of my usurper. Beware. Beware of my hunger and of my anger.’ Celebrating one hundred years since the passing of Comrade Vladimir Lenin is an important milestone. It’s an opportunity of us to regroup, to rethink, to criticize and self-criticize and to rebuild and keep the struggle going. And so, after a century under the banner of Lenin, I believe that the next century will be under that banner, and that banner is not only the symbol of Palestine. It is the symbol of all oppressed people. You see it everywhere, throughout the world.
“We honor the legacy of your comrades, standing not only in solidarity with the Palestinians, but in solidarity with the DPRK, in solidarity with Zimbabwe, in solidarity with Cuba, with Venezuela. All of these struggles throughout the world.
USC: Muslim valedictorian will not give graduation speech after discussion over her remarks took ‘alarming tenor’ True to form, the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) turns the story around, claiming that shutting down the speech from this hateful young lady “empowers voices of hate.” Anyone who threatened her should be fully prosecuted under the relevant laws, but CAIR is extraordinarily hypocritical here, as it has frequently applauded when leftist and Muslim thugs shut down speakers who are defending freedom and standing against jihad violence. CAIR says nothing, of course, about her desire to destroy Israel, which would involve the killing of millions of Jews.
As far as CAIR is concerned, that’s not “hate.” Anyway, no one has a natural right to speak at a graduation ceremony, and yet Asna Tabassum was not likely to have said anything beyond the spurious demonization of Israel and false claims of “Palestinian” victimhood that USC students have likely heard thousands of times already in their classes. There is no need for all the lies to be repeated yet again to the students who are, mercifully, on their way out.
“California valedictorian will no longer give graduation speech over ‘alarming’ discussion,” by Anthony Robledo, USA Today, April 15, 2024:
The University of Southern California said its valedictorian will no longer deliver a graduation speech this year, citing “substantial risks relating to security” over social media chatter surrounding the Israel-Hamas conflict.
The Los Angeles school revealed that Asna Tabassum, a fourth-year student from Chino Hills, California, was selected as the valedictorian and would give a speech alongside two salutatorians. In a news release Monday, the university said she would no longer speak at the ceremony after the discussion about her selection took on “an alarming tenor.”
The move comes after some students, alumni and others complained to the university about Tabassum’s social media, which includes an Instagram bio that links to a pro-Palestine website.
“The intensity of feelings, fueled by both social media and the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, has grown to include many voices outside of USC and has escalated to the point of creating substantial risks relating to security and disruption at commencement,” Provost Andrew Guzman said in a statement.
Guzman said the school can not ignore that similar risks led to harassment and violence at other campuses. He added that the school’s Department of Public Safety and campus safety team have consulted to evaluate potential threats for graduation, which typically draws around 65,000 people.
“This decision is not only necessary to maintain the safety of our campus and students, but is consistent with the fundamental legal obligation – including the expectations of federal regulators – that universities act to protect students and keep our campus community safe,” he said.
Tabassum addressed the university’s decision in a statement released through the Council on American-Islamic Relations-Los Angeles.
“Although this should have been a time of celebration for my family, friends, professors, and classmates, anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian voices have subjected me to a campaign of racist hatred because of my uncompromising belief in human rights for all,” Tabassum said.
The council said the school’s decision empowers voices of hate, violates its obligation to project students and “sends a terrible message to not only Muslim students at USC but all students who dare to express support for Palestinian humanity.” It’s also urging the community to demand the school to allow Tassabum to speak at graduation.
Among the calls against Tassabum as a graduation speaker were student group “Trojans For Israel,” who said her selection turned “an inclusive and meaningful milestone into an unwelcoming and intolerant environment for Jewish graduates and their families.”…
As we reported last week, the Muslims of America (MOA also operating as Jamaat ul-Fuqra) has established “Islamic villages” across the U.S. which have been described as terrorist or jihadist training camps.
Experts believe there are as many as 35 “Islamic villages” across the U.S., with only a portion being publicly recognized. The headquarters is the 70-acre “Islamberg” village in Hancock, N.Y. The “Islamville” village in York County, S.C. is considered the second-ranking village. One MOA-affiliated source said that the group’s long-term goal has always been to establish at least one camp in each U.S. state.
These “villages” are also referred to as “jamaats,” or communities. Major “jamaats” are often located nearby a covert “jamaat” where paramilitary training takes place.
For example, a 101-acre paramilitary training camp in Buena Vista, Colorado, was the companion site to the “jamaat” in Colorado Springs. Another covert 25-acre training camp was discovered in 2005 located near the publicly-acknowledged “jamaat” at Red House, Virginia.
MOA-affiliated sources emphasize that key operatives frequently live outside of the camps and that smaller communities of members also exist outside the camps. Many of those involved in illegal activity do not live in the “jamaats” so that MOA can claim not to know of their activity or that they expelled the member because of their crime. (As in the case of Ramadan Abdullah we covered last week, he had once lived at the Islamberg compound, but was kicked out. In many states, parolees can be ‘checked in on’ without the need for a warrant. MOA explicitly says they intend to prevent any outsiders, from entering their settlements, including law enforcement.)
A 1988 FBI report on the group indicated that Fuqra/MOA’s paramilitary elements are part of an inner core that not all members belong to. It states: “the FUQRA organization is a close-knit organization which believes that the Islamic faith will dominate the world within this century. However, this domination will only come through violent confrontations. Based on this belief, Fuqra has developed paramilitary groups within the FUQRA organization.”
The Regional Organized Crime Information Center said in 2006 that MOA is comparable to ‘classically-structured terrorist cells.’
A 2004 report funded by the Justice Department said that “members of the Fuqra group have raised money by taking advantage of a variety of social service programs, including worker’s compensation, public health care, welfare, and food stamps programs. Other crimes committed by Fuqra members include the creation and use of false identification cards, birth certificates, and other forged documents.” The group recruits heavily from those with criminal backgrounds and is known to use security companies as fronts.
Gilani vehemently denies MOA/Fuqra is a terrorist organization, though intelligence reports on Gilani himself as well as a study of his teachings suggest otherwise.
In December 1993, Gilani attended a terrorist conference in Khartoum, Sudan. Among the groups represented were Hamas, Hezbollah, Egyptian Islamic Jihad, and others. Reports indicate Osama Bin Laden was present—a believable claim since he lived in Sudan at the time.
In 2002, Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl was kidnapped and executed in Pakistan when he was on his way to interview Gilani. He has never been charged and denies involvement but says that Pearl was sent to assassinate him.
A secret tape made by Gilani’s followers in Pakistan proves that the purpose of the camps in the U.S. is to facilitate paramilitary training. In the video, Gilani boasts of having “one of the most advanced training courses in Islamic military warfare” and invites interested Muslims to contact MOA offices in Pakistan or in several states in the U.S.
The film shows Gilani followers receiving the training and practicing the hijacking of vehicles, use of firearms, hand-to-hand combat, setting off explosives and other violent acts. In one scene, an instructor says, “Act like you are a friend, then kill him.”
Years ago, when law enforcement authorities shut down MOA’s commune at Buena Vista, Colorado (upon discovering that it was essentially a terrorist training camp financed through crime) a poem was recovered which reads, “Come join my troops and army/Says our Sheikh Gilani/Prepare to sacrifice your head/A true believer is never dead/Say ‘Victory is in the Air’/The kafir’s blood will not be spared.”

Here’s Why Fears Of “Jihadi Training Camps” On US Soil Keep Coming Back With Donald Trump’s inauguration as US president only days away, a long-simmering conspiracy theory about “Muslim armies” inside the US is boiling over — again.
The notion that there are training camps or armed compounds inside the country, where Muslims hoard guns and prepare for some kind of armed conflict against the government, is not new. Stories about “jihad training compounds on American soil” have been floating around for the better part of a decade.
Since the election, several right-wing blogs and websites supportive of Trump have renewed those claims, with blaring headlines suggesting that “Muslim armies” are gearing up for “war” against the next president. The stories have generated tens of thousands of shares, comments, and likes on Facebook.
One of the websites, Ending The Fed, has a history of spreading false or highly misleading news. It gained wide attention in August after a completely fake story about Fox News firing host Megyn Kelly became a Facebook trending topic.
Another place that has jumped on the bandwagon — the website USA Daily Info — appears to be based out of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, with fake Facebook accounts from that country disseminating the website’s stories to pro-Trump groups on Facebook. Macedonian spammers frequently used these methods to spread fake news during the US election.
As BuzzFeed News has previously reported, writing highly biased articles for American news consumers became a cottage industry in Macedonia, with at least 140 of these websites located in the town of Veles alone. Spreading fear about Muslims in America is seemingly an international undertaking.
Most of the conspiracy theories about these supposed terrorist training grounds focus on The Muslims of America, a religious organization headquartered in the small village of Islamberg in Hancock, New York. Islamberg was set up in 1983, based on the teachings of the Pakistani Sufi cleric Mubarik Ali Shah Gillani, who wanted his followers to “establish rural communities centered on religious life,” according to a 2015 Reuters report. Similar TMOA-affiliated villages exist in other parts of the United States, and they are often depicted on fringe anti-Muslim websites as training camps for terrorists, usually including frightening maps of their locations.
These fears were reignited last month in a segment on the Fox Business Network, which featured Ryan Mauro, a national security analyst for the Clarion Project. The Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks hate speech, describes Mauro as one of the most prominent anti-Muslim extremists in America.
Mauro told the host that The Muslims Of America is stockpiling weapons to take on the incoming Trump administration.
“With the election of Donald Trump, they believe their end-times prophecies that they believe in are now being fulfilled, [that] Donald Trump is part of a Satanic Jewish conspiracy, and they are preparing for the camps to be raided and to fight back,” Mauro said, citing unspecified “sources.”
Although he acknowledged that Islamberg is, at best, a community of a few hundred people, Mauro added that it could be as high as 3,000 people who “move in and out” and that “they have a lot, a lot of kids and multiple wives.”
The topic of jihadi training camps on US soil also came up early in the presidential cycle, when Trump was asked about them at a campaign event in New Hampshire.
As the Washington Post’s Philip Bump wrote following the Trump town hall event, the jihad training camp theory can be traced back to a 2005 report on white-collar crime, which focused on the group Jamaat ul-Fuqra’s use of such things as worker compensation fraud to fund its activities.
A 1999 State Department report on global terrorism named Jamaat ul-Fuqra as a sect that “seeks to purify Islam through violence,” led by that same Pakistani cleric, Mubarik Ali Shah Gillani. TMOA, however, has denied any link to Jamaat ul-Fuqra or its teachings.
That persistent rumor that there is something strange afoot in Islamberg and similar villages seems to have inspired an armed Tennessee man to visit the Muslim enclave in 2015 with a plan to kill residents and firebomb the mosque and other buildings, according to a criminal complaint against him.
“We will be cruel to them,” Robert Doggart allegedly said of Islamberg residents in a conversation with an FBI source. “And we will burn down their buildings….And if it gets down to the machete, we will cut them to shreds.”
When CBS News visited Islamberg in 2015, TMOA chief executive Hussain Adams insisted there was nothing sinister about the organization or its communities of believers, and that far from hating America, residents cherished their citizenship.
“We are very fortunate to live our lifestyle and practice our religion freely within the United States,” he said. “We have actually been protected because of the freedoms that the United States affords to Muslims.”
Local law enforcement officials also expressed confusion over the widely held belief that there was anything criminal or dangerous about Islamberg.
“I think there is a lot of misinformation that is out there, certainly on the internet,” Capt. James Barnes from the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation told CBS News, adding that he had been visiting the community for more than a decade.
“I would say that the amount of crime that is associated there at the land is less than it is anywhere else,” he said.
The Muslims of America did not respond to repeated requests by BuzzFeed News for an interview, but the group did issue a statement following Mauro’s TV appearance.
“The danger in fake news is that it scares Americans and radicalizes them to engage in vigilante justice against Muslim communities,” the group said in a statement. “While the results of the election have emboldened racists and xenophobic bigots, even those in political office, it has also empowered marginalized communities into social and political activism.”
Although Democrats don’t truly hate America, making this claim elicits the outrage that garners higher TV ratings, more social media shares and likes, and makes more money for networks. Media on both the right and the left foment this anger because their existence often depends upon it.
We are all, to some degree, responsible, as well, as we collectively segregate ourselves into our tribes and convince ourselves that we are morally superior to those “others.” Until both liberals and conservatives realize that our real enemy isn’t each other, but our vilification of one another, we will continue down this path toward greater tribal animosity that is the real threat to our democracy.
