In this 29 April 2026 video, host Cash Jordan talks about how it looks like Iran’s ability to challenge the US naval blockade remains off the table as the conflict enters it’s 3rd month. Meanwhile, the Trump admin may have made a deal that causes the strait of hormuz to fade into irrelevancy forever.

Since the failure of the Islamabad peace talks on April 12, 2026, President Donald Trump has implemented a comprehensive naval blockade of Iranian ports, a strategy he describes as “eliminating” the vessels that defy U.S. warnings. This dual blockade scenario features the U.S. Navy sealing off Iran’s coastline while Iran continues to restrict general traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

On April 13, 2026, Trump issued a social media warning that any ships interfering with the blockade would be ‘immediately eliminated’ using the same aggressive tactics employed against drug traffickers at sea. On April 19, the U.S. Navy conducted its first major direct action by disabling and seizing the Iranian-flagged cargo ship Touska after it ignored a six-hour warning period. The USS Spruance reportedly fired on its engine room. Then on April 23, U.S. forces boarded and seized the Majestic X supertanker in the Indian Ocean. It was carrying Iranian oil destined for China. The cumulative impact as of late April is over 33 vessels having been intercepted, with multiple tankers forced to turn back to Iranian ports like Chabahar.

The blockade is reportedly costing the Iranian regime approximately $400 million to $500 million in lost revenue daily. With exports halted, Iran is rapidly running out of on-shore storage space. Massive supertankers are currently being used as “floating storage” near Kharg Island, a situation experts warn could cause “irreversible” damage to Iran’s oil fields if production must be shut down. In response, Iran has deployed a “shadow fleet” that uses AIS spoofing to falsely appear at anchorages near Basrah, Iraq, while covertly loading oil at Iranian terminals.

The blockade has caused significant volatility in global energy markets and affected the Iranian Rial (IRR), which has seen a downward trend amid the intensified military and economic pressure.
