Closing stores is required to change them into holding facilities for people after the military takeover and lockdown comes.
Walmarts are huge stores. If they stop receiving goods from China, they will be fairly empty other than food. My local store had several center displays full of the same plastic drawer storage units for sale (twice the price of a year ago) stacked four high and placed in different places around the store. I am pretty sure they came out of one of the many shipping containers stacked in the parking lot.
